About the Role

The Compliance Lead will own and coordinate compliance activity across the Whitewater Group, working within the Health and Safety team to ensure the business operates to the highest legal, regulatory, governance, and quality standards. A core focus of the role is managing local documentation, statutory requirements, compliance risks, and assurance activities across all countries in which the Group operates, ensuring entity-level, project-level, and site-level documentation, controls, and compliance obligations are accurate, current, and audit-ready in every jurisdiction. 
 
This is a group-wide, multi-country role requiring strong organisational skill, attention to detail, and the ability to work with local advisors, regulators, and country teams to keep Whitewater compliant as it scales internationally. 

Your profile

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in compliance, governance, quality, HSE, or regulatory management.
  • Experience managing compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions and working with external legal, regulatory, or professional advisors.
  • Experience operating within construction, engineering, manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience managing ISO-certified management systems.
  • Experience conducting audits and compliance investigations.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and leadership capability.
  • Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Environmental Management, Business, or related discipline.
  • Lead Auditor qualification (preferred).
Experience 
  • GDPR and data protection compliance awareness.
  • ISO 9001 Internal/Lead Auditor certification.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE qualification desirable.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body desirable.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 27001 management systems.
  • Risk assessment and compliance monitoring.
  • Audit planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of corporate compliance, statutory filings, and international regulatory frameworks.
  • Regulatory compliance management.
  • Root cause analysis and corrective action management.
  • Microsoft Office Suite and reporting systems.
  • Document control and management systems.
Other Requirements 
  • Willingness to travel to project and operational sites.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Ability to obtain client security clearances where required.
  • Flexibility to support audits and compliance reviews across multiple locations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Multi-Country Compliance & Documentation 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company compliance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, contractual, and client requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate statutory registrations, licences, permits, regulatory filings, and local compliance documentation across all countries in which the Group operates.
  • Manage and maintain ISO management systems (ISO 27001, 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and others as applicable).
  • Lead internal audits, supplier audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and industry standards.
  • Maintain a compliance register covering jurisdiction-specific legal and regulatory obligations, ensuring documentation remains current and audit-ready.
  • Support operational teams with compliance guidance and corrective actions.
  • Investigate compliance incidents and oversee corrective and preventive actions.
  • Produce compliance reports and KPI dashboards for senior management.
  • Coordinate external certification and surveillance audits.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
